We want you to be aware of a current fraudulent scam! We have received several calls from our members concerning phone calls and text messages regarding their credit or debit card with Sterling United FCU. This fraudulent company asks you to verify your personal information or to call a certain phone number to update or verify your account information. They may even ask you to activate your debit or credit card by giving you your account information over the phone. Neither Sterling United FCU nor our fraud reporting agents would ever call you requesting your card number or personal information. This is a nationwide scam and you should never give your information out to a company you did not contact yourself. You are the only one that should know your Personal Identification Number (PIN)! Keep in mind that if something doesn’t seem right, it more than likely isn’t. Protect yourself by being extra cautious and never provide your account, card or personal information to anyone over the phone or via text message!
